BEAT [Borough of Ealing Art Trail]

BEAT 2019

Plans are well advanced for the 2019 Borough of Ealing Art Trail, with over 200 artists and makers opening their homes, studios and venues over two weekends, 6-8th and 13-15th September.

Look out for other BEAT events before that – our annual Pop-Up shop exhibition in Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre in July [date tbc], an activity day at Ealing Jazz Festival on 28th July, and a promotional day at Brentford Festival on 1st September.

19 June: Valerie Best is one of NAFAS’s excellent judges, so we are delighted she will be coming to advise us on judging techniques (what the judges look for in competitions). So come learn what tips she will give us.


17 July: Treasured Textiles is Jo Bromwich’s title for this month. Let’s see what this really means. We also have a club competition, titled Treasured, so not only could you win one of Jo’s creations in our raffle, you could also help judge the winner of our trophy.

HCC Upholstery and Refurbishment Group Wednesdays and Thursdays

If you would like to learn to upholster from scratch or wish to carry on a skill you have previously learnt, with a professional instructor on hand to guide you, please come and join our friendly groups run through a not-for-profit organisation.

We encourage the recycling of old chairs by recovering or completely re-upholstering (or somewhere in between) anything from a dining chair to a sofa (although there is a waiting list for sofas because of the storage space required). It is run informally and is project-led so you work at your own pace on a project of your choice.
